Overlook Ridge
Re: Overlook Ridge
That background is "scary good." While I've tried piecing backgrounds together in the past that's taking to a whole new level in this grand ol' game.

Thanks Mikey! When you coming out this way again? Got a chicken dinner at the Golden Lamb waiting on you. LOL Why don't you get that designer out and give us a new course.
Be Safe and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanks Rick. Unfortunately there are no tips or tricks to making overheads. What I did is the same as you are doing which is learning the programs you have at hand and experimenting with them. I started with a small photo program and eventually picked up Adobe Photoshop 7 and the book, Photoshop 7 for Dummies which I sorely needed and learned what I needed for the game and then expanded from there trying different techniques. Some work but most fail. My problem has always been that if I'm not interested in something then I can't get into it but if I really want to learn something I'm bullheaded to no end. After that it's repetition and experiment. From what I read into your post here you are definitely on the right track!!

Appreciate it! I'll keep playing with those programs and hopefully create beauties like this!

Re: Overlook Ridge
Hi Rick,
I do have some stuff that may be able to help you. I will see if I can get it all together and send it to you via Dropbox. I will have to modify it a bit, as it is not exactly perfect. Can you please send me your email address?
May take a week or so to get it done, as my little sister is visiting from down south this weekend, so will be busy with her.
Cheers

Re: Overlook Ridge
Hole #1 526 yards from tee to green makes this starting hole susceptible to a myriad of possibilities for the golfer. Off the tee you want to play slightly left on the landing area which slopes to the right feeding the bunker but beware of the large tree to the left as well. Even the average drive can reach the green in two if you can avoid the water on the left and large bunker on the right. The green is one of the smallest on the course and easy to overshoot so keep this in mind on the approach.

Re: Overlook Ridge
Overlook Ridge is what I like to call a 'Comfort Course' but make no mistake as it is challenging. It's average in length at 7,446 yards with the front nine @ 3,674 and the back nine going 3,772 but it plays shorter. While the fairways are narrow the course is wide open to allow for easier recovery shots. You actually get to use the short and middle irons on several holes. There are few flat surfaces on the fairway or greens but if your close to the pin you'll score well. There are several unique holes that we'll get to later and the scenery is breathtaking. Enjoy your rounds and Remember, swing easy and keep your head down!
Hole #2 is the shortest par 4 on the course @ 379 yards. An accurate drive aimed slightly left of the fairway will accomodate the slope at the landing area that feeds the right side bunker leaving you with a short iron to the green. Pin #5 is shown in the pic which is tucked behind the tree on the far left side of the green. Definitely a birdie hole with two accurate shots!
