Dave! Nice shootin. I would still suggest even though your not playing a full season that you post threads like this in that area.

Even though you had pretty easy conditions (short/normal/calm), shooting a 64 tells me that you are mastering the game. Your short game and putting must be coming along nicely. It looks like the "chainsaw rookie" may be a force to be reckoned with.

No problem Steve. Since I wasn't playing a full season I assumed I shouldn't post in that thread. However since you say it's OK, in the future I will.SteveHorn wrote:Dave! Nice shootin. I would still suggest even though your not playing a full season that you post threads like this in that area.

Re: Byron Nelson Tournament Play Scores
I'm sticking with those conditions currently as it keeps me competative with that pro roster. I would like to move up from Standard to Pro to be able to hit the ball similar distances to them. Currently they are out driving me on average by about 30 yds (250 vs 280) and this means i'm hitting my seven wood (vs their 8 iron) in to many of the long par fours and all par fives are 3 shot holes for me. Unfortunately, so far, I have found the Pro 3 click meter is way way way too fast . On my second click the meter is halfway back down so every shot is a whif. Currently it looks like I'm stuck at the Standard level and thus the shorter standard distances.tincup wrote:Dave, stillgolfing wrote:UNKNOWN ROOKIE TIED FOR 4TH AFTER 1ST RND OF THE BYRON NELSON CLASSIC AT LAS COLINAS.Still not ready for Season Play, so I thought maybe, I would try week to week in Tourney Mode.

You are right about the chipping and putting as basically that's what is keeping me competative. In that round I don't think I hit more than 3 greens in regulation, but I chipped in 5 times and also sunk a bunker blast, I'm guessing I probably had 18 putts. One thing I was wondering are statistics available for a single round. I'm checking my overall stats to note my improvement, but I would have loved to have known for sure what my stats were for that round.
Thanks for commenting, Dar.

Yes stats are available for single round play, but you have to click on REGULATION play on your options page. No gimmes, mullies or pickups allowed. You can play the various types of games though (medal, stableford, etc.)

Thanks for following up Judy;
We had this discussion previously about overall stats (when I noticed I didn't have any) and I followed your instructions back then, they were the same as those above, and that has been working perfectly for my cumulative stats. However, if you say single game stats are available, I'm assuming there must be a different access process (on screen, after that game?). How does one access these single game stats?
Currently, when I go to my stats they are always the cumulative ones. Is it possible that if I checked 72 holes ('cause that's typically what PGA Tournaments are) I will only get 72 hole stats?. That's what I did for this Tourney, but surely the stats for individual rounds within a tourney are important and should be accessible?
Thanks, Dave

Re: Byron Nelson Tournament Play Scores
Mmm, sorry, my misunderstanding of your question. No, single game stats aren't available.
I used to have a neat program from Golf Digest that worked on my old HP with XP but I assume the 3" floppies have corrupted over the years as they won't install on this Dell. It was great for keeping track of each round then averaging out the last 10 rounds played and displaying line, bar or circular graphs. But anyway after it wouldn't work I did a spreadsheet that I could print for each round to track various stats, but I got tired of doing it, etc. etc.
I'd fill in the course, par, distance and handicap, then keep track of drive distance, fairway hit, GIR, putts per GIR, sand saves, scrambling, birdies, eagles, bogies and "others" per round, then expanded it to 4 rounds and averaged the results. If you're interested you might try something like that.

Re: Byron Nelson Tournament Play Scores
Thanks for suggesting other options Judy. Generally, I'm not interested in individual game stats per se, but in Links that feature is available and I have occasionally printed out or saved to file single round stats, where something unusual occurred, say longest drive to date, several chip ins or lowest putts. Since the noted round was in that category (5 chip ins, a sanblast in and possibly 18 putts total) it would have been nice to have an official record of it. Previously I was averaging maybe 1 chip in every 3rd round and my cumulative putts before this round was 1.63. So it's unlikely I will ever see a round like that again.Indy Anna Jones wrote:Mmm, sorry, my misunderstanding of your question. No, single game stats aren't available.

Re: Byron Nelson Tournament Play Scores
This is really embarrasing to have to ask, but I honestly tried to figure it out but couldn't; as the rounds have progressed at this 4 round (72 hole) tournament, I have rapidly dropped out of contention. It dawned on me that I don't have any idea where I stand in the tourney. How do I find my ranking? When I was close to the leaders in the first round I could see where I was, by counting players ahead of me.
There seems to be all kinds of "sorts" available by clicking on various buttons, team? or name etc., but I didn't find a button or feature that would tell me my current ranking in this tourney. Also there didn't appear to be a cut (i'm still playing and I officially suck and shouldn't be). Is there a default cut setting I missed, or do you have to set the cut up somewhere prior to starting a Tourney?
Thanks, a truly humiliated Dave.
