During the 1920s, the Aroostook Valley Country Club was constructed. Since that was at the time of Prohibition, the clubhouse was built in New Brunswick, while the golf shop was in Maine. You see, equipment was cheaper in the United States while members could drink in Canada. Not that it matters, but the course was also located in both countries. Come to think of it, that allowed the golfers to use the smaller ball at the time.

Golfers don't have to be on the course to set records. Mark Baumann of Grand Island, Nebraska, set a record of sorts when he balanced five golf balls on top of each other in 1975. The record was tied by Robert Boyle from Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1982.
