Anyone want their next project? El Camaleon

Post by tarheel »

The PGA is travelling to the Greg Norman-designed masterpiece on Riviera Maya, El Camaleón two week-ends from now. What a really cool course. A signature hole features a large bunker with an honest to God cave in it on the 7th fairway! There are cenotes, mangroves, and canals featured around the course. A beauty! I don’t think we have something like this on JN6.

I’ll even pay a bounty of $75.00 to a JN6 designer who can do a decent job of this one :). seriously.

If any designer feels the need to do something really different, this is it. Check out the following link with a series of video flyovers and descriptions of every hole.

It would indeed be nice to have this course in JN6. Here's a link to what's it's like in TW08. It plays pretty nice.

For a substitute, here are a few options in JN6:
Cenotes de Los Maya In Mexico, has cenotes, but alas, no ocean.
Palm Harbor (Sundance) Really nice course
La Paz (Sugarman) In Mexico
Golf Club de Ixtapa (Permenter) In Mexico, resort looking with buildings.
Cabo del Sol
