Masters Quiz
Watching the Masters has been such a lifetime passion, I thought I'd breeze through this quiz, and share with those still around. Seems like I took it on too quickly, took an ego bruising and scored a paltry 5 out of 30, omg! Some of you guys must surely do better. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/q...

Re: Royal Birkdale
Well David, by itself, the discipline required to resist the odd detour from a fixed plan here and there, is cause for much admiration. Even after months of such meticulous elevation and routing work all the time swearing to remain conscious of not touching even one inch further when beginning the p...

Re: Royal Birkdale
Echo that Steve, just look at all that detail - multiple tee boxes, cartpaths, bunkers, etc. And all accurate I'm betting, very impressive.

Re: Post your last designwork
Yes Dc I think that match works pretty good. As a course fills out further though, it seems to me that getting the perfect combination begins to matter less. But, if you have the rocks created as opposed to using an existing lib then you could try a couple of things via a simple version of photoshop...

Re: Post your last designwork
But probably the trickiest work has been creating trees which match the pano and help bring it into the course. So many possible colour variations between photshop, the arch and course creator, have to accept these now as a final fix. Here's a random glance from the 18th fairway over the first tee b...

Re: Post your last designwork
Great stuff Pols, all your hard work now done, only some simple planting left ;) Found a wee bit of time myself, tried using some older objects, but ... alas couldn't get them to match the new textures, so quality time lost to creating new photoshopped objects. Planted a few to test and took a coupl...

Re: Kruger National Golf Links
Hope that's a pub down there on the left Dunc, just wandering around here gets me parched! That's the whole point of golf though innit, your design is achieving its purpose while looking splendid at the same time!

Re: So, what are you up too?
birkdale.jpg working each hole as a seperate, contained design is the best way to control elevation troubles Pols, especially toward a designs end. Just look at how many 'points' you've produced already. I wouldn't have thought Birkdale contained so much elevation change until I went googlin' it aw...

Re: Post your last designwork
Kind words guys, thank you and great to see you both drop by, I was hoping this type of thread could help spark a little more interaction than we've seen recently, but not to derail a designer's own course design thread. Maybe more a shot or two of what's blocking a designer's way forward that a tip...
