You may remember Hal Weeks as very probably the most senior person to ever play this game. Hal turned 98 on January 20th and still played PGA2000 nearly every day with Maitiu MacCabe, a friend who lives in Dublin, Ireland.
This morning (Feb 17, 2011), I received a sad email from Maitiu and I will post it as written:
"Thurs 12.45pm GMT
To all who knew him,
Our good friend Hal Weeks passed away about 10:00 A. M. Wednesday morning.
Hal celebrated his 98th birthday on January 20th last ….and we played PGA golf regularly up to about 10 days ago, when he became ill.
I calculate we played over 7,000 rounds of golf sims together in 11 years.
He has been in intensive care for a few days with orders not to resuscitate.
He has been ready for this day for some time.
He is survived by his wife Ginny, and daughters Pamela and Heather.
I will miss my friend dearly.
Sincerely,
Maitiu MacCabe, Dublin, Ireland "
I spent a lot of time over the past several years helping Hal in the game. He love the game with a passion and it was his primary entertainment. He was always a gentleman and I will miss him.
I hope you will join me in saying a little prayer for Hal and his family.
Dar

Re: Hal Weeks
Hal & the Weeks family will be remembered in our prayers.
I'd like to get another 28 years of playing PGA.

I didn't know Mr Weeks but I send my sincere condolences. Man we have been getting way to many deaths in the PGA2000 family of late.

I remember Hal from PGA 99 days and then on 2K; it took us a while to remember his screen name: howtoheal.org. He was a special man, always a kind word and just so extremely patient when he played. I wish I'd gotten to know him better. God bless him and condolensces to his family; no matter how long you have someone, it's just never long enough.

Re: Hal Weeks
Real sorry to hear this. I played with him a few times way back around 2002-03. Been a long time but I remember he was a pleasure to play with. His screen name was actually www.howtoheal.org, the address of his website which is still up.
