I used an alternate version of my base golfer which normally I only use on Par 3 courses, and it saved this round file so:

1. I don't know if it was my base "Tarheel" character that was corrupted not to save .round files
2. I don't know if it was something odd with that Bergamo course that didn't allow to save a .round file.

Here is my .round for round 3 of this months tour at Riverdale. Had a great chipin, and several nice almosts.

Hi Guys,

firstly, on Tarheel's question, I had that issue once, a long time ago, so I turned off auto-save .round files and now do it manually.

I just watched Tarheel's Rd 3 against all of our Rd 3's and wow it was interesting. Not just because he and I had another good tussle in Stroke play, but watching the different ways we each approached different holes was intriguing; attacking, backing off, bending 'em like Beckham or hitting them as straight as a piece of uncooked spaghetti. If you want to have a fun watch, download all four rounds and have a gander.

The other thing I loved about this round is that it proves how good our handicap system is. Juan's handicap is 12 shots less than mine (ie. he gets shots on 12 holes, I get none), but have a look at these results:

Now, that's what I want to see, everybody is in it, irrespective of their level of ability.

Cheers

Brad

PS: I have been unsuccessful in getting Juan to select our next assignments, so, Galen could you please select our next courses and conditions, so we can move onto our next tournament.

How do you save a .round file manually? I actuallly tried that and couldn’t get it to work. What do you do?

Hi Brad,

when I said I manually save it, I may have led you a little astray. When I finish a round, the save screen appears and I get to manually name the file before saving. I thought I had turned off auto-save, but having checked again, there is no option to do this, so sorry for the confusion. It was about 20 years ago that this happened to me. I've killed a few brain cells since then! ;)

As a matter of interest, I played a round at Bergamo and the .round save screen did not appear at the end of the game. I could only save the .game file.

Cheers

I'm on it, Brad. We're heading to Japan to play two courses designed by Twilight Express. Details will be posted this weekend.

Thanks for the assist. Don't know what the problem with the Bergamo course is. I played with a different golfer, and again, no .round file option at end of the game.

Must be something wrong with that course file, which is too bad, because its decently fun.

Hi Juan,

as Galen has now selected two courses for our second event, you can choose a couple of Don's courses for our third tournament. Or would you rather I choose two of Don's courses for you?

Cheers

Hi Guys,

just a word of warning before you start playing these interesting Japanese courses. The black tee on Hole 8 at Hibikinomori is not flat.

I would love to get my hands on the uncompiled version of some of these Japanese courses, they have a lot of potential.

Cheers
