Since it looks like there's no saving the old domain, we're going to need to get the content for JN6 integrated into this site. We might start with just a directory listing as a temporary measure so people can download files in the interim. For the future webpages though, I need one or more volunteers to organize info about all of the content in a spreadsheet. This is how it was done for the other games here. Dar Brown did it for PGA, I did it myself for WGC, and Fred Hanser is doing it for JNSE. Then I have a semi-automated way to turn that information into web pages. It's always been one person to assemble the information but I see no reason why it couldn't be split up among multiple people and then combined at the end.
For courses I need:
Course Name
File Name
Real or Fictional Designation
Designer Name
Date
Notes if applicable (such as part of XYZ contest)
If you're feeling ambitious, screenshots, label and file name.
For utilities:
Name
File Name
Creator
Category
Notes if needed
If anyone has other ideas on needs for this game, feel free to comment.
I will upload all my files so they are available. These files can be downloaded and used to create the information Brian is requesting. I'll get the files uploaded ASAP and drop a link in this thread once they are up. The courses I renamed so I don't have the designer information. They are named by their course name only.
I know I downloaded virtually everything for GBC except what looked to me to be the lower quality courses. My downloads also extend back to Warren's site which means it's also possible I have a file or two that was not at The Den.
I have PM'd Brian to see if he can create a blank spreadsheet like he needs with categories so any volunteers can easily just fill in the information.
I'm also in the process of organizing my downloads so the files will be clear/understandable to everyone. Once this is done I'll upload everything and post a link.
It doesn't need to be anything fancy. Just the items mentioned above as column headers and a row for each course or file. You can use anything that creates rows of data like, Excel, Google Spreadsheets, Open Office, or even a table in Word or a text file with commas separating items. I'll take it from there. If someone wants to volunteer and needs a starter file, let me know and I'll create one then. If we have multiple volunteers, somehow we'll have to coordinate who does what files, maybe split up the files by alphabet.
These are just my suggestions by the way. The main thing I'm able to provide is a place to put this stuff and I'll do some web development work if we do things the same way as the other games. If the community wants something different I can provide the access for others to do that but I'll be less involved then. I'm just trying to enable the community and provide some assistance form my experience of running this site.

I am quite familiar with Excel. I have created a template with the column headers your asking for. I can begin with the "A" list if that is okay.

Galen,
This should help a great deal. Listings of courses by designer till 2011 I believe.
If anyone has courses or other utilities for any of the older versions of JN or even the PGA games, could you please upload them somewhere if possible? I intend to try and get older versions of games running for those that can be made to run. PGA 99 for example I know I have run on Win 10 so any courses for this would be great! Any such games will be uploaded here in the future for all to enjoy.
Thanks but most of the course information that Brian asked for was available on the GBD Tour site I used to administer: https://gbc.inthetour.com/tours/jnct
The only thing it doesn't provide are the .zip file names. The source for those were at Dave Smith's Golden Bears Den which I cannot access anymore. Fortunately Randy Grant provided me a somewhat complete listing. I have finished the "A" listing. The only thing is, I wish Dave would have followed some kind of file naming convention when he uploaded courses. The biggest headache is when you use both upper and lower case in the file name. Too easy to make a mistake when I type them in to the Excel worksheet.
Good to hear progress is being made. If it makes it easier we could batch rename them all to lower case. My convention on this site already is to make everything lower case and to use underscores where spaces would be. It doesn't have to be that way here, just whatever makes it easiest.
