I really like this hole, it kind of reminds me of one of yours I played on the WST, maybe at Bogey Bay, where you have two bodies of water closing in on a landing area.

Thanks Tarheel. It's kinda' neat that I got two good playing holes out of one with different pars. I've probably done this before but can't remember it. That tee shot is treacherous with high winds on 16.

Hole #17 earned the #1 handicap @ Overlook Ridge. The 474 yard par 4 features a very narrow fairway off the tee that requires an excellent drive. You do have the wind at your back and a little extra will get you over the rise and down the slope leaving a long iron to the green. The left side of the landing area slopes to the left making your approach even more tedious. The smallish green by Overlook standards is tucked back to the right while the left front and rear sandwich a bunker as well as sloping left and feeding a pond on that side. Par is

excellent on this hole.

The 179 yard par 3 18th sets 34 feet above the same enormous green that challenged you on hole 9. While the green is extremely long the depth forces a high trajectory approach that hopefully settles close to the pin. With the water in front and bunkers at the rear getting through 18 successfully will make hole 19 seem like heaven.
