Here is my round 2 on Ladybower. As courses go, this one is a potentially fantastic course held back by only a couple of touchups. There is one area of the background where the 'wrap' is rather abrupt and doesn't come together smoothly, that takes away from the natural feel otherwise carefully created. Aside from that flaw, I would like to have seen many of the greens have a modicum of challenge added. Its nice to have flat areas, and they should definitely be there, but I would like such areas to not be quite as gigantic as they are. I think a 12 foot putt benefits from a little forced reading.

Aside from that, I do enjoy Ladybower and am thankful its in the collection. As an easier course to play, it might be needed before hitting the challenges of our next course.

Mr. Cusworth only offered us one other course to my knowledge, a JN5 from 1998 called Pine Dunes no 1. This one, I would say may even be a cut above Ladybower and worth your time.

Boulder Pass will challenge in ways round 1 and 2 did not. Even from the white tee you have a long journey from tee to pin, and once there, putts will require adjustments. Great looking course! Thanks again Steve!

Tarheel,

I agree with your assessment of Ladybower. As a designer I spend a lot of time while playing competition rounds, actually looking at the design I am playing. Mr. Cusworth obviously put a lot of effort into this design and if he had been a little more experienced in designing, and made the greens harder, this could have been a stand-out course. As it is, it has some very good holes and some good design work. I quite like it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Looking forward to playing against your Rd 2.

Cheers

Brad

Hi Juan,

I hate to the bearer of bad tidings, but I cannot get your Round 2 file to play. It keeps saying it was played on the wrong pin. Please check that you played the following conditions: Mild/Hard/Pin 4/Black Tee.

Cheers

Brad
