Wow guys, you inundated me with rounds.
I watched Randy's first two rounds against Galen's and it is clear that Randy is not going to let Galen run away with any of the events this year.
In Rd 1 Randy got off to a flier, posting an early four shot lead. From there on in it was tit for tat, with Randy holding his advantage to the end.
In Rd 2, it was much closer. Randy again got off to a good start, but Galen fought back and there was nothing in it at the turn. To and fro the lead went through the back nine, with the result being "Match All Squared, Gentlemen". Thank you linesmen, thank you ball boys!
In Rd 3 we had a group of four, Tarheel, Randy, Galen and myself, and what a contest it turned out to be. I think it is fair to say that Randy's driver went a little haywire a few times over the course of these three rounds. But, by playing some terrific recovery shots he managed to save par or birdie the hole, from some very precarious positions. The sign of a true Champion.
The scoring in this round was exceptional, and but for a couple of lip outs to Tarheel late in the round, we could have had a four way tie. As it was, we had three 58's and a 60. Now that is sort of competition I enjoy watching!
I also watched Galen's Rd 4 in isolation and what a commendable round this was in strong winds. All the excitement was on the green, with some missed short putts, some great long putts and some lip outs. With a smidgen of luck, this round could easily have been four or five shots better.
Thanks gents, most enjoyable.
I will post the first round results tomorrow, as I have to go and hold of my little Grand-Son now. Life is good!
Cheers
Brad
