I just read thru Tarheel's posts, Dirk passed away many years ago. I don't remember the cause. It was way before COVID.

I remember a pic Dirk took of his front door. The window had a custom-made bear design, just like the Goldenbear from JN.

Designer Break: Dirk Ephlin
Falcon Falls

Falcon Falls, challenges us with tight fairways and inconveniently placed obstructions if you just bang away from the tee. It was released in Aug 2003, and is 6973 yards, par 72. Again, Dirk provides us a keeper, and one of his best courses. He was not shy with the sand in this one!

PGA Championship: Muirfield Village GC

Finally got last weeks courses played and posted up! Scotty managed to win this one in a close battle last week end, how will you do? Muirfield Village GC designed by Roy Barley is amongst the elite course designs for JNGBC. You will be delighted in every aspect of the design, accuracy and challenge. I think the design is from April 2021, placing it also in the modern group of course designs.

Roy did a Great job with this design. If my memory serves me correctly, I did the textures for this beauty.

Greyledge CC

Welcome back to the tour proper and we have flown from Canada near Toronto to the foothills and forests of Tennessee. Greyledge Country Club is really a very nice course that should stay on your radar in the future. It was designed and released by Shelby Sanborn in November 1999 and to my knowledge we have only a few of his designs which is a shame, namely Katahdin Springs, Chaparral Valley, Ocean View, Ginn Farm and Acacia Hills. His courses are generally fantastic.

You must find the right angle to get to this green on this long dogleg, 421 yard par 4

Image
Par 5, 562 yards, here the second shot. You can challenge the green on two, but if you land in the rocky stuff and don't get a great bounce, you will be OB.

Juan Menestrina brought to life this version of Congressional Country Club in 2011. This is a 7250 yard, par 70 beast of a course, with narrow fairways, sloped landing areas and difficult greens. You will definitely get tested here! Good use of artwork, including a really nice clubhouse.

I hope you enjoyed watching DeChambeau win after a heartbreaking missed short putt (twice in the last few holes) by Rory. Here, we have a chance to play at Pinehurst no. 2 by Tony Best in 1999. Its 7174 yards and par 70. Tony made some soild courses for JN6 including TPC at Castle Keep and Bay of Angels amongst others.

I would point out that there is a fantastic Pinehurst no 2 from Jay Johnson made in 2005 listed as "Us Open 2005..." which you should absolutely play, and which is the better of two good courses. But Jay Johnson...man he's good at this. I didn't use it this go round because I had never played Tony's version.
