Two it is, and then later in the year I might use another two. We'll move on when Lupin has finished his four rounds at Lone Star Park.

Cheers

Sounds good, I also like playing two rounds and get to know the course in the first round.

In the PG tournies we usually play 4 x 9 holes rounds on one course but the results are auto calculated. That makes it quicker to play online with another human player, but I dont think we have the online option with JN6?

I play most PG tournies online with someone in a group of friends who happen to be there. But it is like playing with recorded rounds, except for the chatting and bantering lol. If noone is about I play solo.

My favorite event is the pairup divisions playing one shot myself and my partner plays the next etc. There are like 20 pairs playing in three divisions over 10 weeks and you try to go up. Or in our case try to not be relegated from 2nd division.

Hi Goran,

it would be nice to have different options to play competition, as you describe above, but unfortunately that can't happen with JN6. I've been playing this great game since 1999 and would have loved to have played online, but as I am in Australia the time zone differences with the US and Europe made this impossible. Thankfully, we can share .round files to play against, which is the next best thing.

Hi Guys,

I think we may have a burglar in our midst. Lupin improved by a massive 15 shots from Rd 1 and accordingly gave us all a bit of a touch-up in Rd 2, particularly in Stableford. We will see how he goes as his handicap keeps coming down.

Cheers

Brad

Here's the Rd 2 scores:

3rd and 4th round here. No great surprises like the 2nd round had for me. Except I hit lots of trees.

Thanks for finishing these Lupin. I will update the spreadsheet and post results this afternoon, along with details of our next courses and conditions.

Hi Guys,

please find below the scores for Rds 3 and 4 and the final scores averaged across all four rounds at Lone Star Park Golf Course. Three rounds under 60 helped me this time around, although Lupin certainly got close in the Stableford event after his 66 in Round 2, with an 18 handicap for that round.

I hope you all enjoyed the challenge of Lone Star Park Golf Club. Personally, I thought it was a great layout, and not just because I scored well on it. As a designer, you appreciate the thought that goes in to making a hole, not only challenging, but aesthetically pleasing as well. This course had plenty of both.

Now, Goran has asked that we play a couple of my courses. So, given it is Australia Day on 26 January, I thought I would use one of my Australian courses and one of my fictional courses. So, for these four rounds we will be playing the fictional course of Sapphire Lakes Country Club in Rds 1 and 2 and then the real course, Kalgoorlie Golf Club for Rds 3 and 4.

To make things more interesting, I have decided that we will be playing off different tees in each of the two rounds at each course.

So, the conditions are:

Sapphire Lakes Rd 1: Mild/Normal/Pin 2/Black Tees
Sapphire Lakes Rd 2: Medium/Hard/Pin 4/White Tees
Kalgoorlie Rd 3: Medium/Hard/Pin 3/Black Tees
Kalgoorlie Rd 4: Mild/Soft/Pin 5/Blue Tees

See you blokes on the tee and don't forget which tee you're hitting off :golf: .

Cheers

Hi Goran and Lupin,

in case you're interested, here's how the handicaps currently stand after Lone Star Park. Obviously, Tarheel's and mine haven't changed much, as they are based on the results of 20 rounds we have played so far. From here on in however, as in real golf, our handicaps will be based on our best 8 scores from the previous 20 rounds.

By way of explanation, the higher your handicap is on this chart, the fewer shots you get for Handicap and Stableford purposes.

I have just calculated our new handicaps based on the above formula (ie. discarding our worst 12 scores out of the last 20) and my handicap is now worse by 3 shots (from 11.4 up to 13.6) and Tarheel's is worse by two shots (from 10.1 up to 11.6). So, that should really even things up for Handicap and Stableford honours, at least for the next 16 rounds, after which your handicaps will be calculated the same way as ours.

Cheers

Brad

Oops! Sorry Goran, just noticed I spelt your name incorrectly in the graph.
