GreenVille Castle GC by SirTorben [New Course]
Re: GreenVille Castle GC by SirTorben [New Course]
This is what I would call a 'manicured' links style layout.
Plantings, bunkering and hole layouts relect a links course, it just lacks the random undulations and is quite smooth.
That's not to say it's easy, far from it.
I found this coourse to be a bit of a beast, there are some very long par 4 and 5's around here. Bring your best long game.
Bunkers are very well made, all have a rounded lip transformation, something I haven't seen before, but I think the fairway bunkers suffer just a little from being mainly flat, there is no slight mounding behind them, as per some greenside bunkers.
Just a small gripe, but I feel this would have added to the design.
Excellently built, planting are a little same-ish, as per links courses, but prove difficult to escape from should you wander of track.
There are a number of ruins atop hillsites to break the horizon, I supect thats what remains of Greenville Castle, mentioned in the course name.
One more A lister, and a keeper for me, got to go back and better the 10 over I shot first time around.
