Calling Adam Brandt
Adam
Was looking at your libaries you created for Glen Haven and have confused myself
I really like the texture sets you created.. And thought bout perhaps using them soon...However If you could be so kind
tell me what each of those blends are? All I see is like S2,S4 and all that
Is there anyway you can shoot me a list here labeling what they are for like Sand Blend1 etc? I am color blind so this would assist greatly
Thanks brother

Re: Calling Adam Brandt
Terry, great question! I realize that without access to the arch file, you wouldn't know what all these textures are meant for. So here's how it works. I intended for the letter to designate what blend type it is, however I didn't use them quite like that. Note the reason I named them like this is because it's much easier to choose them in the texture list. When choosing a texture from the texture list, instead of scrolling through the list, click the texture box, type "R1" or "S5", hit enter and voila!
S# textures are for Rough blends
B# textures are for Beach blends and Dunes blends
P# textures are for Pine blends
The A# textures were used to transition from the P5 texture to the S9 texture, as a buffer from sand to pine bed
I did not use the R# textures
So for example, on hole 1 at Glen Haven starting from the first rough texture you then have S1-S8 for the rough blends, and B1-B4 for the dunes blends. Same idea for the wooded holes, but it's just the rough texture, then P1-P4 for the pine blends. S9 is the main texture of the plot. P5 is the main pine bed texture.
Hope that answers you question!!

Those textures are probably going to be used alot. I went back and looked in the arch to see if I could figure out how Adam labeled them, but I opened the library with the holes signs first. These look so real.....I gotta know Adam...how did you do the indented numbers and leaf?

Re: Calling Adam Brandt
I wish someone would do a nice set of generic holes signs in a separate library; no distances or pictures, just "1st hole" (or "Hole 1") then par 3, 4 and 5. The nicer signs don't fit other courses and the generic signs we have available (IMO) aren't very attractive.
Re: Calling Adam Brandt
Indy! I totally agree. It would be nice to have some good generic hole signs.
Re: Calling Adam Brandt
Someone did develop a library like that (don't remember who).
It is called Generic Hole Signs, dated Feb 17, 2009.

Dar, I think those are the ones Judy was talking about. I might use Adam's, but I'll have to manipulate them some. It can be done, but I just want to know how Adam got the indention look to be so real. Even the little leaf in the upper right corner is intented.

Re: Calling Adam Brandt
Looks like he used the template for the CC Park signs I did. If you want to create some generic sings, I posted the templates for a wood and a granite sign here: http://www.zagerdesign.com/golf_design/ ... _signs.htm
He definitely did a better job of getting the engraved look then I did though. I think I just surround everything with a gray outline. His actually has a shaded look with shadow and highlighting. Very nice!

Re: Calling Adam Brandt
Brian, I like those wooden ones too! I'm assuming you and/or Duncan did them for the CC Park course?

Re: Calling Adam Brandt
Yeah, I did both a wood and a granite sign and we ended up choosing the granite for CC Park. I don't know if the wood signs ever got used for anything but the templates are there if anyone wants them. Duncan did the tee markers.
