Re: World Tour Season #11
Glad to see you're still doing this Steve! How do you determine your points? Does the number you put beside the course have something to do with how many points are distributed?

Re: World Tour Season #11
Doron! The # by the course is a score I give to each course I play in a tournament. Its a strange system but every course starts with a perfect 10.0 and I subtract points from there. Instead of a full point here and a half point there somehow many years ago when I first started I would only use tenths (.1) or even (.05) in subtracting. Anyhow The way I figure it (9.55, 9.6, 9.65) are A minus course's (9.7, 9.75, ,9.8) are solid A's (9.85, 9.9, 9.95) are A plus Then there's that perfect 10. Points are done by the tournament rating. Ratings are Standard 10 points if won,- Elite 17 points if won,- Special 20 points if won, Major 24 points if won, Tour championship 25 points if won and World Championship 36 points if won.You must finish in the top 10 to receive points.

Re: World Tour Season #11
It looks like the Joost is loose!! Steve, if you're having a bad season and still in 12th position for the year, than you still have it going pretty good. Make those cuts and you'll be right at the top again!

Re: World Tour Season #11
So I recently broke out the golf game and played a little...
A few days ago, I was looking at this thread and thought, Hey Ill try my hand at a season.. I downloaded (I think its the 11 season) from here, or something like that..
I deleted the first couple tournies and started with the one at , well crap, forgot the name of the course, (somerfelt course)....
I hadn't played in so long, but knew I could shoot pretty good... Mid-round three I was plugging along and just happened to look at the scorecard.. I was only 3 up, .....Finished that round up by a few...
Fourth round, I ended up shooting -15...(Started to get my putting touch back, been missing too many easy putts.)... I ended up -41 for the tourney and for some reason everyone else just plummeted shooting like +8 and +10 on the final round...I even four putted one of the par 5 holes , and had an eagle putt from like 20 feet... I was embarrassed... I can remember a time I would shoot -70 or lower for four rounds, but seems as though I aint as good as I once was...Need practice... instead of sticking most approaches to 8-10 feet everytime, Im averaging closer to 20-30 feet with occasional lip burner approach... Not sure what Im doing wrong... ha ha ha
Second place was -17 I think it was Rory... All I know I won 1,200,000 sum odd dollars, and treated myself to a nice steak afterwards.. HA HA.... Pretty fun.. I may just finish out the season and see how low I can go....
I like the scoring here Steve... I may give all this a try.... Beginning to really enjoy the game again

Re: World Tour Season #11
The feast or famine tour continues (whoops I mean World Tour) as I seem to either miss cuts or finish in the the top 10. I seem to be hanging in there with a tie for 7th at The Bridgestone Inv. and a 2nd place finish (1 stroke back) at The PGA Championship. . Most won't like who's currently in 1st place. Only 6 tournaments remain for players without any points to get some if they want to make the 1st season cut and have a chance at the World Championship. So far 112 players have at least 1 point or more. Close to 90 players still without a point. Here's the current top 20 standings and results

Re: World Tour Season #11
Getting ready to play The Ryder Cup. Thought I'd go ahead and post the two teams rosters for anyone who's interested. Rosters choosen based on points earned over the past two seasons. One hundred percent credit for points earned this season and fifty percent credit for points last season. The real Ryder Cup is being played at Gleneagles G.C. in Scotland. We have a excellent course called Gleneagle but its a fictional course located in Montana so I'm still not sure what course to play the Ryder Cup on. Will decide later today.

Season nearing an end and I'm in fifth place in points with only two wins this year. Need a minor miracle to win the World Championship and Player of the Year but I'm still alive. Rescent tournament results and top twenty in points follow.

Re: World Tour Season #11
World tour season #11 has come to a close. Even though I struggled alot this season I stayed in the hunt to the final tournament (THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP) If I had won that tournament and Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker finished out of the top 10, I would have achieved a minor miracle and won The Season Player of the Year and tied with Steve Stricker In points. Alas that scenerio didn't happen. I'm finding out that this new optical mouse is giving me way more bad shots then my old mouse. I'll have to play with the mouse settings more and see if I can improve. Below is the recent tournament results and final season #11 points.
