Hi

Post by Jorgen »

I accidentally stumbled across this site while looking for something else, so I figured I'd register and say hi. It's quite fascinating to see that this old gem of a game is still being used, and that people actually enjoy some of the courses I designed or helped co-design over 10 years ago. It was also great to see so many names here that I still remember from those days. I even managed to find my old PGA2000 CD and install the game, and I also realized that I still have a couple of unfinished courses sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be finished. One of them is even a fully routed 18 hole links course with all major elevations done, which I had completely forgotten, so who knows, it might eventually become finished. :)

Take care,
Jorgen

Jorgen! It's great to see you here with us. I remember you from the early Copyright Club days. Some of the old veterans are still around, and some still making courses. Would love to see what you are working on!

Thanks guys! I just uploaded my first contribution here, a utility I programmed a few years ago, a backport of the installer for the Tiger Woods series that works with PGA2000. You point it directly to the zip files, and it installs all included items, both courses and libraries. I hope someone finds it useful. It's not a replacement for the Course Manager, just an easier to use alternative.

Here is a link, in case you might want to test it:

Cheers.

Jorgen! Great to hear from you. Love and still play several of your courses. You mentioned a backport for Tiger Woods game. Do I have to install a older version of a Tiger Woods game on my computer to use this upload for PGA 2000 ? I'm not sure how it works so I need more details!

Hi Steve. No, it's only modified to work with PGA2000 instead of the TW series, so no need to install anything extra. :)

Sorry for the delay on getting it on the site. It is now available on the utilities page.

I tried it out too and it works pretty nice. The only thing is it told me I didn't have libraries installed when I did. I was able to just skip past that and install anyway though. I'm using Windows 7 as a user account and I wonder if this is because it makes me run the CLSetup program as admin. On the admin account on my computer there are no libraries installed other then the stock. CLSetup seems to install the course on both the user and the admin accounts.

Thanks Brian! I have no clue whether it works or not on anything later than WinXP since I'm still running that, so I can't be of much help there I'm afraid.
