Re: Old Timers Competition
Terrific round Randy!
However, there's always a down-side to being so good! As this round is now part of your best eight rounds from your past twenty rounds, your handicap has gone up by three shots, from 9 to 12. So, now you only get shots on the 6 hardest holes, instead of 9, for Handicap and Stableford purposes.
Chin up

Re: Old Timers Competition
Hi Guys,
I know we haven't finished our current tourney, but if anybody wants to post some early rounds for people to play against, Randy has dug way back into the archives to come up with our next two courses, both being released in 1999, and both by Australian designers (Nice!).
The first is Cutters Peg by Denis Spriggs and the second, Apple Isle by Voyen Koreis.
The conditions are as follows:
Cutters Peg:
Rd 1: Medium/Normal/Pin 1/Black Tee
Rd 2: Mild/Soft/Pin 4/White Tee
Apple Isle:
Rd 3: Mild/Normal/Pin 2/Black Tee
Rd 4: Medium/Hard/Pin 5/ Red Tee
Please be warned that a few of the tees on Cutters Peg aren't perfectly flat. (White Tees: 2,4 & 5) and (Black Tees 1 & 8) although the black tee on 8 is probably the only one that may affect the ball flight.
Here are links to both courses.

Third round at Mark Twain. This is a tricky layout and a long brute. I like it.

Re: Old Timers Competition
I agree Galen. This is a terrific course and has provided a range of challenges for each and every one of us.
Rd 3 has probably proven the closest we have had so far in relation to the Stroke scores, with you, Juan and Randy all continuing to improve. I suspect, things will only get closer as this improvement rolls on.
Rd 3 saw multiple winners in two categories and not much separating the field across the board. This is how I had always hoped things would pan out.
Just two Rd 4's to complete this tourney, and I reckon we could have multiple tournament winners as well.
Cheers

Hi Juan,
thanks for posting the early round. The course certainly caught you out a few times, but you fought back well. I particularly liked your sneaky shot under the trees on 16.
Cheers

Re: Old Timers Competition
Round 4 guys! After playing a HORRIBLE round at the Scottish Open in Round 4, literally hitting a 10 on a hole (yes, you should download it and either play with it or just watch and enjoy), in gusty winds, this felt like a massive breath of fresh air.

Re: Old Timers Competition
Hi Guys,
Cracking rounds by both Tarheel in Rd 4 at Mark Twain and Juan in Rd 2 at Cutter's Peg.
Tarheel has almost guaranteed himself a win in the Stroke event with a magnificent 57 in the final round, while Juan's good round at Cutter's Peg saw him take another shot off his handicap. One final round to come from Galen and we'll see how it all panned out at the Alluring Lakes and Mark Twain courses.
Cheers
Brad
PS: Juan, you are becoming an expert at those sneaky little shots under the trees. Well thought out and well executed.
