As I noted with my La Paz design, it started out based on Machrihanish, so I'm down for trying a links course. I've played with some links designs but never actually completed one before.

I'll be fine with the consensus. If it is links then I'll be able to use one of my favorite techniques: Random terrain to recreate a bumpy sandy dunes and pot bunkers.

Wow, seven (7) votes for a Links Style Design. We'll keep this open and give everyone a chance to respond but I think we need to start getting a BG and texture set ready for a Links course. Does anyone have an outstanding BG for this style or should we create a new one?

Links style would be fun (if I can get the game installed).
Jay Johnson made a background for our Royal North Devon co-design, we could use it but it has a few areas with strange colours if I remember right. The good thing with it, is that the surrounding areas are very low and distant, which is important for the feel of a links course. Something to think of if someone makes a new background (I don´t have that kind of patience Im afraid).

Goran, most links courses are all sky. If you can send it over to me I will take a look at it and check out the strange colors. I can probably fix that and if so will post for all to check out. sdholden3@hotmail.com or send me a link for dropbox. Thanks

Here's an original I can put together that has a Scottish look. I've got it sized down for the site.Image
