Northumbria Golf Club - Slow Start

Post by Charlie »

Steve and Jeff motivated me to start another JN6 design. I call it Northumbria Golf Club, a fictional course set in the Scottish Lowlands. The pano was prepared by Daniel Watson for Links, but he later made available a number of his panos for JN6 designers. This one needed cleaning up, so I spent the better part of a day doing that. I then worked on selecting and installing objects into the course file and creating the INI file. I found some textures and made a few modifications. So I did not begin designing a hole until today, although I have been working on this for several days. Steve and Jeff understand - there's a lot of preliminary stuff to complete before you start moving any cyber dirt.

In any event, here is a first go at Hole number 1, a 561-yard par 5. There is OB on the right where the road enters the course near some local houses. It is reachable with 2 good shots, but not if you hook your fairway wood, like I did in the attached video.

Thanks, Steve.

That outfit is one of the Ryder Cup outfits.

Scott's file is attached. I have Ryder Cup outfit files for the other models too.

Looking good, Charlie. Daniel Watson has some great panos for Links. Glad that you got one to work for you. A good pano makes all the difference in the world.

That looks great Charlie, The textures match the pano really well, the added objects really suit and that bunker is obviously in the right place.

Wow! That looks awesome Charlie! Great look!

I messed around with panos in an effort to recreate the totally open feel of the front nine at Crystal Downs. Not easy!
