Re: new laptop
I've just got a question: what exactly are winx files? I google and get results for WinX DVD player files, but that doesn't seem like what I need. HELP, please? Sorry just said Winx off the top of my head. They are Active X files (.OCX) and typically are associated with a 339 error with PGA 2000. S...

Re: new laptop
I Have an HP Envy laptop running Windows8.1 Update. I had 2 issues. I Had to locate, download and manually install 3 old WinX files as recommended in an earlier Win7 problems thread, and I had/have to turn off my McAfee Antivirus to Install the game and any courses and libraries because, when instal...

Re: Links & Rugged Isle
Reinstall the Carnoustie library - that should fix it - but be forewarned that any course requiring Tulaichean Bay libraries (tul and tul2) may now be affected by this action. It is the Alan Toft phenomena! In order to have all 1600+ courses installed and playable, it requires reinstalling some lib...

Re: Top Courses and More
How about European Links and Johanne Golf Club v.2 by Stefan - both are great fun! Franklin Lakes is IMHO Steve Opfer's best course but probably not up to par with some of the gems you have already played. I would also suggest Tobacco Road if you want to get a look at what designers used to have to...

Re: Elysium Fields CC by Polslad [New Course]
This amazing blending of 18 disparate holes shows off the incredible design talent of Polsad. Truly fantastic! On a sadder note, I and my ani-buddies always test a new course under benign conditions. I have no idea why, but I shot a new low for me (-7) while my ani buddies (set up to be competitive ...

Re: new computer
Hi Spencer and Indy: When you use the the term "Download problem" what does this mean? Are there error messages? Does the computer say the program downloaded but you can't find the installer? What actually happens? The reason I ask Is, there are several members who have successfully resolv...

Re: Windows 8.1 Fresh Install
I recently installed PGA2000 on my new laptop (HP Envy with Win8.1-update). Although the install was not problem free, there are several helpful threads in this Tech Forum for problem solving. Key factors are ensure anti-virus and firewall are turned off and this also applies whenever you are downlo...

Re: Switching Intel integrated Graphics to Nvidia Geforce Ca
Steve; Just wanted to thank you for pointing me in the right direction, regarding troubleshooting this issue. The culprits were the live START MENU apps. Although I have only the minimal number running and checking in the background (Mail, Sports, News, Weather, Finance and Microsoft Store) Apparent...

Re: Switching Intel integrated Graphics to Nvidia Geforce Ca
Dave! The graphics card may not be your problem. To me it seems like it might be a lot of unnecessary background apps running with high priority settings. Look in your task manager for settings of background apps and ones that can be deleted. Thanks for the idea Steve. Checked and found the typical...
