Hard Drive Failure

I am posting this while I still can. I rebooted my hard drive today and got the message 1720-Smart hard drive detects imminent failure. Failing drive: SATA 0(dark blue). Failing attributes: # 05. First thing I did when it rebooted was to copy anything I wanted to save to my external drive. I have a HP/compaq dc5750s. I did some research and found a compatible drive to replace it (320GB SATA/600 7200rpm 16mb). I'm not an expert so can someone tell me if this drive will work for my computer? Also I don't have an OS disk but the product key sticker for the computer is still on it . XP But if I get that new hard drive how and where do I get XP with that product code ?Thanks

DC#1! I wish I knew how to help you. Unfortunatley I'm not an expert either. Good luck and maybe it's best to just buy a new computer.
