Northumbria Golf Club is a fictional course set in the Scottish lowlands. It is not a links course, not set on the coast, but it has some of the ruggedness one might find in a links course. I looked at a few photos of courses in the lowlands, and firs, pines and other coniferous trees seem to prevail in this area, but several varieties of deciduous trees can also be found here so I made some use of them too. I used the Scottish pano prepared by Daniel Watson for Links Golf, and later retooled by him and made available for GBC JN6 course designers. I had to tinker with it a bit, but it seemed to work well for this project. I did not make many objects for this project. I am grateful for many of the grasses and bushes I found on Galen's Britannia course. I also used a few of Terry Armstrong's trees. And some of the objects like gorse bushes are so old, I have forgotten who to credit, or whether I created them. Thanks to all the designers who create content for this game and share it with us. The course is designed to play with windy conditions and hard surfaces and it presents some opportunities to bounce and run shots to the pin. My pins generally become more difficult as they go up in number (e.g., 1 is usually easiest, and 5 is usually the most difficult). The course plays 7,239 yards to a par of 71 from the back tees, but there are 4 sets of tees, so you can find a length that suits your game. Thanks to Bill (Aristocrat48) for playtesting the course for me and identifying a few things that needed correcting.
